This 3 days Uganda gorilla safari from Kigali transfers from Kigali city or any part of the republic of Rwanda to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home of many of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas that lies in the south western part of Uganda. This safari gives you a one hour closer look at the mountain gorillas in their natural habitats thereby rewarding you with a great gorilla tracking experience.
Programme for the 3 days Uganda gorilla safari from Kigali city
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi in Uganda
Our driver guide will pick you from either Kigali international airport or any hotel in Rwanda and briefs you about your 3 day safari package. Then embark on your 4 hours’ journey through either Katuna or Cyanika borders depending on the location of your lodge. Expect to have a stopover at either Kabale town or Kisoro town depending on the border post used, then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable national park for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Tracking the mountain gorillas in Bwindi forest
Wake up early in the morning at a round 6:00am, have your breakfast as you wait for the our drive guide who will meet and drive you the park head headquarter along with your bottled water, packed lunch plus the tracking gears for the 7:00am briefing about the gorilla tracking guidelines and how these endangered species behave.
After briefing you will be joined with the park guides, an armed ranger and some few potters and then enter into the Bwindi Forest to trek the habituated gorilla family. The tracking activity is strenuous as you must have some levels of fitness for a rewarding experience.
On meeting the assigned gorilla family, you will have an hours’ interaction with the mountain gorillas, spend time studying them and take pictures and videos. Afterwards return to the park headquarters to pick your certificates and later head to your hotel for relaxation or you may wish to go for a community walk experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali, Rwanda
After your early morning breakfast, meet the driver and embark on your journey back to Kigali through any of the crossing borders. If time allows you may go for a Kigali city tour, later connect to your flight or drop off at your hotel of residence.
