3 days gorilla tracking Bwindi safari in Uganda takes you through a magical journey to Bwindi Impenetrable national park situated in the south western region of Uganda and a home to approximately over 400 mountain gorillas, 350 bird species and some other 120 mammal species.Bwindi Impenetrable national park is a swath of steep mountains covered in thick with a steamy jungle as magnificent as it sounds. The park is Africa’s most ancient habitat situated on a 331 square kilometre area of land.
Itinerary for the 3 days gorilla tracking Bwindi safari to see mountain gorillas
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala or Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
Our drive guide will pick you and set off from either Kampala or Entebbe by 8:00 am and drive to western region of Uganda. Expect a stopover at the Uganda Equator where you will take some photographs and then proceed west driving through the rolling verdant hills with long horned Ankole cattle, terraced farmlands and spectacular sceneries.
Have lunch in Mbarara town and later in the evening arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable forest park. Dinner and overnight at the reserved lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking in the jungle forest of Bwindi
After your early morning breakfast, we drive to the park headquarter have a briefing at 7:00am by the guides and then by 8:00am begin the gorilla tracking activity within the dense Bwindi.
Gorilla trekking may turn out to be tiring as the Bwindi has a very challenging landscape. It will necessitate you to move with a packed lunch plus drinking water and also wear very comfortable hiking boots or strong shoes and a weightless rain jacket because the weather in Bwindi is very unpredictable.
For a great adventure, you will be availed with a walking stick. After meeting a gorilla group your assigned to, you will be allowed to spend an hour’s time to interact with them, take some photos as well as enjoying you adventure. Later on transfer back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a gorilla tracking certificate for participating in the activity and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.
In the evening, visit the Batwa pygmies, the traditional forest dwellers who will demonstrate to you about their forest life. Dinner and overnight at your reserved lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala / preferred drop-off
After having your early morning breakfast, you will be driven back to your preferred drop-off or to Kampala Uganda’s capital while expecting to have lunch along the way.
